ISLAMABAD, Oct 06 (APP): Pakistan’s youngest Taekwondo champion Ayesha Ayaz has once again made the country proud by winning one gold and one silver medal at the Indonesia International Taekwondo Championship, held in Jakarta from October 2 to 5.

Ayesha showed remarkable skill and confidence throughout the tournament, defeating strong international players to secure two medals for Pakistan. Her performance has been praised nationwide as a proud moment for the country and an inspiration for young athletes.

Ayesha told APP that around 5,000 athletes from 21 countries, including Japan and Indonesia, took part in the event. She said her gold medal came after matches against Japan and then an Indonesian player in the final, while in the silver medal category, she first faced Thailand and later another Indonesian opponent in the final.

She expressed immense gratitude and said, “I am thankful to Allah Almighty for this success. It is the result of my hard work and the prayers of my parents, teachers, and all those who supported me.” Ayesha added that she dedicates her medals to the people of Pakistan, saying, “This victory belongs to my country and my people.”

Ayesha, who has represented Pakistan in several international events, said that competing in Jakarta was a great experience, allowing her to showcase her skills against some of the best players in the world.

She also serves as the Global Ambassador of Metrix Pakistan, an initiative promoting youth empowerment and a positive image of Pakistan internationally. Ayesha thanked Metrix Pakistan Founder and CEO Hassan Nisar for his continuous support and encouragement, saying he and his team have always stood by young athletes like her to help them represent Pakistan with pride.
“I am proud to make my country shine again at an international event,” she told APP, adding that she aims to continue working hard to bring more medals for Pakistan in the future.
