KARACHI, Oct 06 (APP):The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) organized a soulful Qawwali Night in honor of Hazrat Ameer Khusro, one of the celebrated poets, musicians, and scholars of the subcontinent on his 770 anniversary.
A large number of citizens, literary enthusiasts, and culture lovers attended the program, filling the heritage site with an atmosphere of reverence and joy, said a statement on Monday.
The evening featured a mesmerizing performance by the renowned Abu Fareed Qawwal Group, whose powerful renditions of Ameer Khusro’s kalaam captivated the audience.
The melodies echoed through the lawns of Frere Hall, transporting listeners into the mystical world of Sufi poetry and music that Khusro pioneered centuries ago.

He said that the revival of cultural activities is essential to restore Karachi’s identity as a city of lights, creativity, and inclusivity.
“Karachi has always been a cradle of culture and harmony. Through such events, we aim to reconnect our citizens—especially the younger generation—with our historical and artistic roots,” said Mayor Wahab.
The Mayor also announced that KMC will continue to organize similar cultural and recreational programs across the city on a regular basis to encourage public participation and foster a sense of community belonging.
