DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 06 (APP):The Faculty of Computing at Gomal University has officially launched two new undergraduate programs, BS Cyber Security and BS Data Science, under its Institute of Computational Intelligence (ICI).
A formal inauguration ceremony was held, with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal attending as the chief guest.
The event was attended by Registrar Zahir Shah Marwat, Dean of the Faculty of Computing Professor Dr Jabbar Khan, heads of various departments, faculty members and a large number of students.
In his inaugural address, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said that fields like cyber security and data science were critical needs of the modern era.
He added that the launch of these programs would not only equip students with cutting-edge technical skills but also enable them to compete at the global level.
He said the initiative would mark the beginning of a new era of research and development at Gomal University.
Director of the Institute of Computational Intelligence (ICI), Dr Khalid Mahmood, thanked the Vice Chancellor and the university administration for their support.
He noted that this academic initiative would play a vital role in aligning students with modern technologies and preparing them to meet global demands.
Faculty members also praised the development, saying the introduction of these programs would significantly contribute to preparing students for future challenges and technological advancements.
