Riyadh, Oct 6 (SPA/APP): The International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2025 witnessed the sale of three falcons on Sunday for a total of SAR935,000 in a live auction held before visitors in Malham, north of Riyadh.
The auction featured two falcons from Mongolia as part of the Mongolian falcons zone. The first, a Hur Farkh, drew intense competition and sold for SAR450,000, while the second, a Hur Qarnas, was sold for SAR400,000.
The evening concluded with the auction of a Hur Shaheen from Al-Qahma in Aseer Region as part of the 2025 Saudi Falcons Club auction for local falcons, which sold for SAR85,000.
This year’s exhibition features, for the first time, a dedicated zone for Mongolian falcons, highlighting their esteemed status among falconers in the Kingdom and the region. Renowned for their high quality, large size, long wingspan, and endurance, these falcons also display a range of colors, from pale white to dark brown, making them highly sought after by both enthusiasts and professionals.
The Saudi Falcons Club auction is limited to migratory Hur Shaheen falcons, with strict prohibition on auctioning Qarnas Shaheen or wild falcons to ensure their sustainability.
The club offers falconers a range of services and facilities, including transportation, accommodations, and sales documentation. The auction is also broadcast on television and social media platforms.
