Prime minister departs for Malaysia

LAHORE, Oct 05 (APP):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday departed for Kuala Lumpur on an official visit to Malaysia from October 5 to 7, on the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information
and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq
Fatemi accompanying the Prime Minister.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold a meeting with his Malaysian
counterpart, while delegation-level talks between the two countries will also take place.
A number of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on cooperation
in various sectors are expected to be signed between Pakistan and Malaysia.
Both leaders will discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, IT and telecommunications, halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy.
They will also explore new avenues to strengthen people-to-people contacts between
the two nations.
