RAWALPINDI, Oct 04 (APP):Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown against drug traffickers by conducting six operations and apprehending seven drug suppliers, including a woman and an Afghan national.
A total of 49.283 kilograms of drugs worth more than 4.1 million were confiscated during these operations, said ANF spokesman.
At Islamabad Airport, ANF recovered 90 ice-filled capsules weighing 683 grams from the abdomen of a passenger traveling to Muscat, Oman.
In a separate operation, 29,400 Diazepam tablets weighing 8.5 kilograms were seized from luggage bound for the UK. Domestically, near Ring Road in Peshawar, 500 grams of ice were recovered from a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of an Afghan national.
In Lahore’s Bahria Town area, 30 kilograms of drugs were seized from a car and two suspects, including a motorcyclist, were apprehended.
Inter-provincial seizures included 7.2 kilograms of drugs recovered from a truck near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza in Attock, with one individual arrested, and 2.4 kilograms of hashish confiscated from a woman near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Peshawar.
The separate cases have been registered under the CNSA 1997 against all the accused and further investigation is underway.
