LAHORE, Oct 03 (APP): To control smog, water spraying and tree washing are being carried out in the morning and evening on Lahore’s roads, parks and green-belts.
During the monsoon plantation campaign, the PHA has planted more than one million plants, including around the Ring Road, along the Ravi River and in various parks. DG PHA Mansoor Ahmed says that trees like Neem, Jamun, Peepal and Sikh China are effective against smog, while houseplants like Aloe Vera and Mini Plants are helpful in purifying the air. Citizens can become protectors of the environment by planting more trees.
The Punjab government and PHA have started practical steps to control the increasing smog in Lahore. A special campaign is underway to provide saplings to the citizens and protect trees.
For the first time, PHA has started free plant delivery to citizens’ homes on a single call. Free plants are also being distributed among citizens by setting up camps at different places across the city.
