GUJRAT, Oct 03 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams, under the supervision of Deputy Director Muhammad Rizwan Saeed, carried out 2,472 inspections across the district during the last month.
According to a PFA spokesperson, 1,245 food outlets were served improvement notices, while fines amounting to over Rs2.05 million were imposed on 173 businesses.
Six outlets were sealed over unhygienic conditions, and 18 cases were registered.
The spokesperson said that 156 new businesses were also registered during the campaign.During inspections, substandard and unsafe food items were discarded, including 212 kilograms of ghee and oil, 440 liters of milk, 30 kilograms of sweets, and 26 kilograms of other food items.
The PFA, in collaboration with the district administration, was continuing field operations to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to citizens.
