Aleem meets mayor Darkhan, proposes direct flights to Almaty

ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (APP):Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan proposed to start direct flights from Pakistan to Almaty, a city in Kazakhstan, as well as the relaxation of travel facilities.
He expressed these views during a meeting with the mayor of Almaty, Darkhan Satybaldy, in which detailed discussions were held on urban development models, improvement of transport, road infrastructure and other matters of mutual interest.
Abdul Aleem emphasized that this initiative would help to promote Almaty as a major tourist hub since travelers would be able to reach Kazakhstan directly without transiting through another country, saving plenty of time.
Highlighting the importance of stronger trade and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan stressed that expansion of the road network was essential for enhancing connectivity between the people and business communities of both countries.
Abdul Aleem Khan also extended an invitation to Mayor of Almaty, Darkhan Satybaldy, to visit Pakistan.
He appreciated the latest facilities being provided there, noting that the development of Almaty city serves as a role model for Pakistan.
“Pakistan is keen to further expand trade relations with Kazakhstan and establishing direct business-to-business linkages is the need of the hour,” he underlined.
The federal minister added that Almaty, blessed with natural beauty, has the potential for modernization and development on the pattern of Dubai as a cosmopolitan city.
In the meeting, mayor of Almaty, Darkhan Satybaldy, warmly welcomed the Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, while they both also exchanged gifts.
He stated that Kazakhstan holds positive and friendly sentiments towards Pakistan.
Sharing his impressions, Abdul Aleem Khan remarked that he was leaving Almaty with fond memories and that his stay in the city had indeed been remarkable.
It is worth mentioning that Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan was leading the Pakistani delegation in Almaty, Kazakhstan, to participate in the Silk Road Transport Forum.
