First ever modern technology being used to combat smog in Punjab

LAHORE, Oct 2 (APP):For the first time in the history of Punjab, modern technology is being used to eliminate smog.
On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the use of modern technology has been launched, while the official use of anti-smog gun and state of the art Air Quality
Indicators (AQIs) has started in different areas of Lahore city.
On this occasion, the effectiveness of anti-smog gun was also reviewed with the help of
modern weather system connected to Artificial Intelligence. The Chief Minister also provided modern machinery along with other measures to control the problem of smog in all areas of Punjab.
Noted environmentalist and former official of Environment Protection Department  (EPD)
Naseem-Ur-Rehman Shah, told APP that through the modern anti-smog gun, small droplets of water were sprayed into the air, adding the spray of this water cleans the pollution and dust particles present in the air.
It may be noted that this modern machine is being used in other countries including India
and China to reduce smog.
Fifteen anti-smog guns have been manufactured locally.
These guns have now been officially put into use, while 5 anti-smog guns are in the preparation stage.
These modern guns are an important link in Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s
mission to control air pollution. They will also help in controlling respiratory and lung diseases.
