ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (APP):Fans and film enthusiasts across Pakistan are remembering legendary actor, producer, and scriptwriter Waheed Murad on his 87 birth anniversary today.
Fondly known as the “Chocolate Hero,” Murad remains one of the most celebrated icons of South Asian cinema.
Born in Sialkot in 1938, Waheed Murad began his career with a cameo role in Saathi (1959) and went on to feature in 125 films, winning 32 awards over the course of his career.
His romantic charm, graceful screen presence, and unmatched acting talent made him a household name across Pakistan and beyond.
Murad passed away in November 1983 in Karachi, but his legacy continues to inspire new generations of actors and filmmakers.
