PESHAWAR, Oct 02 (APP):Acting president and Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani here Thursday said that government is fully committed to provide conducive environment to investors aiming value addition, diversified economy and tap market potential in current scenario.
Acting President expressed these views while addressing the inaugural session of Pakistan Business Summit.
The event titled “ Shaping What’s Next” was also attended by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Privatization, Muhammad Ali, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, Former Minister for Investment and Chairman Nutshell Group, Azfar Ahsan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Albaraka Bank, Atif Hanif, President Habib Bank Limited, Nasir Salim, CEO Fauji Fertilizer, Jehangir Piracha, Group Chief Executive Officer VEON Group, Kaan Terzioglu, CEO Dubai Islamic Bank, Ali Gulfaraz, CEO Bank of Khyber, Hassan Raza, Dr. Rehman of RMI, businessman and experts.
He said that introducing transformation would open new vistas of growth, development and prosperity in the country.
He said that growing focus on sustainable investment is a proof that country is moving in right direction with the efforts of current government.
Chairman Senate said that economic condition is improving and numbers are showing better GDP index.
He said that growing sustainability, incubation, trend of higher education, shaping of technology would usher country into new phase of development.
He said that proper restructuring would pave way for growth besides unlocking new avenues of opportunities for our people.
He also highlighted country’s potential in tourism sector and added that Pakistan has strategic location with resources and talent that would help us to meet the challenges in existing world scenario.
He said that tourism could flourish in the country by giving security and liberty of foreign tourists visiting Pakistan.
He also underscored the significance of peace in the region and said that it would positively impact Pakistan if peace is established in neighboring Afghanistan and maintained that interest of country and its people is foremost.
Acting President said that he attended the awarding ceremony of Malala Yousafzai in Oslo despite the fact that his own son was in captivity of Taliban.
He also praised sacrifices of security forces in maintaining peace and said that we should join hands to make country stronger and developed.
