KARACHI, Oct 02 (APP):The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) have formally launched their collaboration under the UK Government’s Standards Partnership Programme (SPP).
According to the press release, the initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan’s national quality infrastructure and facilitate international trade through cooperation in standardization, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.
BSI’s Muhammad Shohaib highlighted the programme’s focus on supporting partners to enhance their standardization frameworks for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
PSQCA Director General, Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool, emphasized the goal of aligning Pakistan’s standards with international best practices to boost the global competitiveness of its products.
The partnership’s strategic roadmap includes technical assistance, staff training, and the adoption of key international standards to remove technical trade barriers, ultimately paving the way for increased market access and consumer confidence.
