PESHAWAR, Sep 29 (APP):The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), University of Haripur (UoH), in compliance with the directives of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (KPCVE), organized the first co-curricular session of the academic year 2025–26 on the theme “Heritage & Cultural Promotion for Peacebuilding.”
The session, held at the Video Conference Room, brought together students, faculty members, and staff to highlight the importance of cultural preservation and heritage promotion in fostering peace and harmony within society.
Nauman Khan, Lecturer, Department of History and Politics, served as the resource person. In his address, he emphasized that cultural heritage is not only a reflection of collective identity but also a bridge for dialogue, tolerance, and mutual respect.
He elaborated on how heritage promotion can counter narratives of extremism and contribute to long-term peacebuilding in diverse communities.
Prof. Dr. Aziz Ullah, Dean, Faculty of Biological and Biomedical Sciences, and Chief Organizer Trainings-HRDC, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to engaging students in meaningful activities that nurture values of inclusivity, peace, and responsible citizenship.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students actively participated, sharing their views on cultural revival and its role in creating a peaceful society.
This activity marked the first in a series of co-curricular sessions assigned to the University of Haripur under the KP-CVE Calendar of Activities 2025–26.
