ISLAMABAD, Sep 26 (APP):National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his impactful United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) speech, calling it a bold reflection of the Muslim Ummah’s sentiments and a testament to his stature as a prudent and courageous global leader.
National Assembly Speaker, in a statement on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), said the prime minister began his speech with the recitation of Quranic verses, conveying a powerful message of peace and harmony to the world. He added that the prime minister courageously highlighted Israeli atrocities in Palestine and strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Qatar, reflecting Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to justice and the rights of oppressed communities.
 Speaker said the Leader of the House in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif forcefully underscored Pakistan’s principled stance on Palestine, stirring the conscience of the international community over the atrocities committed against innocent civilians. He added that the prime minister urged the global community to take immediate and effective measures to end Israeli aggression.
Speaker said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif courageously exposed India’s false propaganda regarding the Pahalgam incident before the international community. PM also highlighted the tragic martyrdom of innocent children in the Indian attack on Pakistan on May 7 this year and laid bare the Modi government’s grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaker said the Leader of the House informed the international community about the success of Operation Bunyan al Marsoos in repelling Indian aggression. He noted that the prime minister highlighted the professional excellence of Pakistan’s armed forces in securing victory in the Marka e Haq, reaffirming Pakistan’s status as a sovereign nation that firmly rejects all forms of aggression and terrorism. The prime minister also emphasized that lasting peace and development are impossible without the resolution of conflicts.
National Assembly Speaker said the Leader of the House in his speech informed the international community about Pakistan’s immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, including the loss of over 90,000 lives and significant economic setbacks.
He noted that the prime minister highlighted the issue of cross-border terrorist attacks originating from Afghan soil and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism. The prime minister also presented a comprehensive roadmap for economic recovery and development, while drawing global attention to the catastrophic floods in Pakistan caused by climate change.
