KARACHI, Sep 25 (APP):Sindh Madressatul Islam University’s Faculty of Information Technology in collaboration with the university’s Business Incubation Centre (BIC) hosted the Tech Fest-25, a dynamic exhibition of projects at SMIU’s I.T. Tower. The Tech Fest was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University Dr Mujeeb Sahrai.
The event spotlighted innovative prowess of students enrolled in BS Computer Science, BS Software Engineering, and BS Artificial Intelligence programs.
The projects addressed globally relevant themes, including HealthTech & Medical AI, Smart Systems & IoT, AI and Machine Learning Applications, Fintech and Business Solutions, Cybersecurity & Digital Safety, Education and Learning Technologies, Gaming, Simulations and Entertainment, and Social Impact and Community Solutions. The research projects demonstrated students’ capacity to develop practical solution.
The Vice Chancellor Dr Mujeeb Sahrai along with Deans Dr Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, Dr Jamshed Adil Halepoto, Advisor to the Vice Chancellor on Academics Dr Abdul Hafeez Khan, Director ORIC Dr Mansoor Ahmed Khuhro and other heads of departments and faculty members visited stalls and encouraged the students who had exhibited projects combined with new and innovative ideas and research work.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized the students to utilise BIC’s space and convert their innovative ideas into a business. He also directed the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology Prof Dr Aftab Ahmed Shaikh and Manager BIC, SMIU to link students’ projects with the concerned industry.
Dr Mujeeb Sahrai congratulated the organisers of the Tech Fest on organising a successful Tech Fest and said that students must align themselves with industry through their ideas and research.
He said that in the present day era those persons will achieve their goals who had new ideas, because ideas are shaping the better world for humanity. He said that Pakistan’s youth is progressing very fast in the field of science and technology, that surely benefit the country and the nation. He said SMIU provides latest technological facilities to its students including computer and AI labs, where students are engaged in their research work.
Later on all the projects were evaluated by industry experts, Kashef Uddin, former Lead Technology Trainer, M Abid Musif Khan, VP Faculty Enrichment at Ponder, Erum Hanna Techlogix, Muhammad Hassan from Folio3, Muhammad Naeem, Contour Software, Syed Wasiq Muhammad Wenawa, Founder – HealthTune, Sheeraz Sattar, TRAFiX LLC and Kamran Ali.
