Gomal University sees significant ORIC score boost in HEC evaluation

Dera Ismail Khan , Sep 24 (APP):Gomal University has achieved another significant milestone by securing 52.5 points in the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) ORIC scorecard for the first time in its history, marking a major step forward in promoting research, innovation, and commercialization.
Vice Chancellor of Gomal University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, personally submitted the self-assessment report on the HEC portal and appreciated the performance of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) team.
“This achievement is a positive step towards strengthening the research culture, implementing innovative projects, and enhancing the academic standing of the university,” the Vice Chancellor said.
He extended special congratulations to the ORIC team, comprising Director ORIC Dr. Muhammad Adeel, Research Support Manager Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, Dr. Asif Awan, and Ramzan Babar, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal further said that this accomplishment has paved the way for the establishment of a Business Incubation Center (BIC) at Gomal University, which would serve as an effective platform for transforming research outcomes into industrial and commercial applications.
He added that the initiative would build strong linkages between students, faculty, and local industry, thereby playing a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the region.
