Gilani visits flood relief camps in Shujabad, promises full rehabilitation

MULTAN, Sep 19 (APP): Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani visited flood-hit areas of Tehsil Shujabad and Jalalpur Pirwala on Friday to review relief and rehabilitation efforts.
During his visit to Mouza Rukan Hatti, he inspected the flood relief camp, interacted with victims, and inquired about their problems and available facilities. He also visited the medical camp, checked the quality of medicines, and directed officials to ensure uninterrupted healthcare and food supplies.
MNA Abdul Qadir Gilani, Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Qasim Noon, former MPA Javed Ansari, Pakistan Sweet Home head Zamurd Khan, senior district and police officers, and local notables accompanied him.
Assistant Commissioner Shujabad Syeda Humaira Shah briefed the acting president on losses and ongoing rehabilitation measures.
Talking to the media, Gilani said the recent floods caused massive destruction, especially in south Punjab, but all institutions were actively engaged in relief work. He assured that victims would be fully rehabilitated and damages compensated, adding that all available resources were being utilised to provide food, medical care, and shelter.
Later, food was distributed among flood victims by Pakistan Sweet Home. Gilani mingled with the victims and shared a meal with them. The residents thanked him for the visit and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
