KOHAT, Sep 19 (APP):Vice Chancellor, University of Kohat (UoK), Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas on Friday said work was underway to establish the university’s new campus in Kurram district and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed with Islamabad Diagnostic Lab to resolve the financial problems of the university and provide facilities to the employees.
Talking to media persons, he said under the MoU, 20 to 30 percent discount would be given to the employees in medical treatment .
The VC said the university was going to start a distance learning program soon, which would include programs in various departments including media studies so that higher educational opportunities could be provided especially to journalists
and employed people.
He said that providing all possible facilities to the students was among his top priorities and various educational and co-curricular activities including sports were being started for
this purpose.
Dr. Syed Zafar said that plans for the establishment of university schools and a hospital at University Chowk were also under consideration, which would provide quality education and medical treatment to the people of the area.
The VC said that various scholarships were being provided to male and female students, while discussions were also underway with various institutions for more scholarships.
Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas, expressing his determination, said that “My vision is that no child should be deprived of education.”
