TASHKENT, Sept 11 (UzA/APP) : The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, had a telephone conversation.
Issues related to the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland, primarily in the trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres, were discussed in detail in the context of preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of Finland to Uzbekistan.
The ongoing constructive political contacts and interparliamentary exchanges were noted with satisfaction. In 2024, trade turnover grew by 24 percent. Since 2022, the Finnish Nordic University has been successfully operating in the country, and projects in the field of school education development are being implemented.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for cooperation in areas such as agriculture, chemicals, energy, mining, telecommunications, and other innovative industries, including the introduction of advanced technologies into the education system.
To prepare specific projects, it was proposed to hold a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum with the participation of leading companies from both countries.
An exchange of views took place on the current international agenda. The importance of peaceful conflict resolution based on international law was emphasized.
