Action against encroachments to be taken as per law: Nasir Mehmood Butt

LAHORE, Aug 28 (APP):Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works Chairman Senator Nasir Mehmood Butt with Senator Pervaiz Rashid and other members of the committee on Thursday visited encroached and trespassed properties situated in Chamba House, Wafaqi Colony, Federal lodges and flats at Edgerton Road.
Later, the chairman presided over a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works here at Chamba House.
During the meeting, illegal occupation on Chamba House land and matters of Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak PWD)  came under discussion.
The chairman said,” The relevant authorities have been directed to come up with complete papers as we can not allow illegal possessions nor we can take illegal action against the occupants.”
He said that action against illegal encroachments or possessions would be taken as per law.
Responding to a question, he said that federal and provincial governments do not support encroachments.
He said that the Punjab government was already taking vigorous action against encroachments.
To another query, he said that during the tenure of the incumbent government there was no political prisoner in the country.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder used to level false allegations on others
but today the PTI founder was facing 14 years imprisonment over corruption.
He said, ” A wise person always learns from mistakes.”
Nasir Butt said that opposition should play positive role, adding that all political parties should focus on the country’s development and prosperity by setting aside their personal interests.
Senator Niaz Ahmad, Senator Muhammad Aslam Abro, Senator Abdul Shakoor Khan and others were also present.
