ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (APP):: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting on Thursday with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at the Ministry of Interior, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Pakistan–UK relations across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, matters related to counterterrorism, counter-narcotics, border security, and human trafficking came under discussion, with both officials agreeing to enhance joint efforts and cooperation in these critical areas.
High Commissioner Jane Marriott extended her heartfelt congratulations to Minister Naqvi on receiving the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz, lauding his leadership and extending her best wishes for future endeavors. She also conveyed condolences and solidarity with the people of Pakistan over the recent loss of lives caused by devastating floods and heavy rains, expressing deep sympathy for the bereaved families.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to peace and stability, stating, “Pakistan has always been an advocate of peace and strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms.”
Highlighting the UK’s role as a key partner, Naqvi emphasized, “Britain remains an important partner in Pakistan’s journey of progress. We wish to expand bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom in all areas of mutual interest.”
The meeting underscored the shared resolve of Pakistan and the United Kingdom to broaden collaboration, not only in the domains of security and law enforcement but also in fostering stronger political, economic, and humanitarian ties.
