ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP):Textile exports witnessed an increase of 32.13 percent during the first month of the financial year (2025-26) as compared to the same month of last year (2024-25), said Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Thursday.
The overall textile exports from the country were recorded at $ 1.679 billion during July 2025 against the exports of $ 1.271 billion during July 2024.
The textile commodities that contributed in trade growth included cotton yarn the exports of which increased by 0.57 percent to $56.070 million during the July 2025 as compared to the exports of $55.750 million last year July.
The other commodities that witnessed growth in trade included cotton cloth the exports of which grew by 1.19 percent to $141.823 million from $140.148 million whereas the export of yarn other than cotton yarn rose by 16.02 percent to $2.965 million.
Similarly, the export of knitwear surged by 43.50 percent to $513.277 million from $357.682 million, bed wear by 38.29 percent to $296.354 million from $214.305 million, towels by 33.93 percent to $93.877 million from $70.093 million, and readymade garments by 35.47 percent to $400.252 million from $295.449 million.
The export of art, silk and synthetic textile also rose by 21.67 percent to $33.150 million from $27.245 million, made up article (excluding towels and bedwear) by 45.38 percent to $69.867 million from $48.058 million, and all other textile materials up by 33.08 percent to $65.174 million from $48.973 million.
The textile commodities that witnessed negative growth in trade included tents, canvas, tarpaulin, the export of which declined by 37.64 percent from $10.877 million to $6.783 million.
Meanwhile, on month-on-month basis the textile exports from the country went up 10.37 percent during the month of July 2025 as compared to the exports of $1.521 billion recorded in June 2025, the PBS data revealed.
