PSWA to Install 586 water filtration plants in Sargodha division

SARGODHA, Aug 20 (APP): Commissioner Sargodha Jahanzeb Awan on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Punjab Safe Water Authority (PSWA) to review  initiative to provide clean and safe drinking water to the residents of Sargodha Division.
According to Commissioner office spokesperson here, the meeting was attended Deputy Commissioners, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PSWA, Naveed Ahmad, via video link.
PSWA Chief Executive Officer Naveed Ahmad briefed the Commissioner about project and said that under the project, 586 modern water filtration plants will be installed in the districts of Khushab, Bhakkar, and Mianwali.
He briefed the meeting that Khushab will receive 211 plants, Mianwali will get 164 plants, and Bhakkar will have 211 plants. “The plants will be installed outside government buildings and will be powered by solar energy”, he added.
The CEO said that the second phase of the project will cover Sargodha district, ensuring equal access to clean water for all residents of the division.
He mentioned that regular testing of water quality will be ensured to maintain the standards of the restored water filtration plants.
On the occasion, the Commissioner directed the deputy commissioners to review and finalize the proposed sites for the plants and submit a detailed summary to the PSWA.
