PM welcomes Moody’s upgraded credit rating of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over global rating agency, Moody’s new credit rating of Pakistan to Caa1 from Caa2 and appreciated the efforts of his economic team.

The prime minister welcomed the Moody’s upgraded rating about improvement in the economic outlook for Pakistan from positive to stable, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

He also reiterated that the government’s team was committed to further improving the rating as it was reflective of the economic policies in the right direction.

According to its website, Moody’s ratings publishes credit ratings and provides assessment services on a wide range of debt obligations, programmes and facilities, and the entities that issue such obligations in markets worldwide, including various corporate, financial institution and governmental obligations, and structured finance securities.
