HARIPUR, Jul 31 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority team in Haripur, under the supervision of the Deputy Director Hazara Division, conducted inspections of various factories and food-related businesses across the district.
During the inspection drive, a factory producing mislabeled juices in violation of food safety regulations was sealed on the spot. Authorities also disposed of a large quantity of substandard and unsafe food items in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The destroyed items included 38 kilograms of China salt, 4,350 bottles of low-quality juice, 98 bags of substandard ketchup, 450 kilograms of starch, and several other food products. Additionally, 7,000 empty glass bottles were handed over to a crushing plant for safe disposal.
According to officials, the confiscated items were collected over the past few months during ongoing field inspections aimed at ensuring public health and food safety across the district.
