SUKKUR, Jul 30 (APP):Senior politician and social activist Advocate Syed Shafqat Ali Shah has strongly condemned the recent surge in crimes, including murder and robbery, in Sukkur district.
In a statement on Wednesday, Syed Shafqat Ali Shah expressed his deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Sukkur, which is known for being a peaceful and thriving commercial hub. He said that the district has become a hotbed of crime due to administrative negligence.
The politician highlighted that incidents of robbery, theft, and murder have become a daily occurrence, leaving citizens feeling insecure. He lamented that the people of Sukkur have lost faith in the district’s political leaders and that various segments of society, including traders, industrialists, builders, engineers, doctors, lawyers, journalists, and shopkeepers, are living in fear of criminals.
Syed Shafqat Ali Shah criticized the police for being ineffective in controlling crime, saying that they seem helpless against the perpetrators. He pointed out recent incidents, including a robbery at a trader’s house in Rohri, where a family member was killed, and the murder of Ghulam Akbar alias Ali Raza Mangrio near Qureshi village.
The social activist demanded that the Sindh government, IG Sindh, and relevant authorities take immediate action to restore peace and security in Sukkur district. He urged them to take concrete steps to curb lawlessness and protect the citizens of Sukkur from the grip of crime.
