Four Dolphin Force officials dismissed for assaulting citizen

MULTAN, Jul 29 (APP): Regional Police Officer (RPO) Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has taken strict notice of an alleged assault on a civilian by personnel of the Dolphin Police.
Taking action after the inquiry report on Tuesday, the RPO said that the allegations have been found to be true. He dismissed all four involved officials from service.
According to spokesman of the RPO office, complaints were received regarding the unlawful use of force and misconduct by Dolphin Force officials against a law-abiding citizen. The regional police officer, acted swiftly, initiating a formal investigation. Upon confirmation of the incident in the inquiry committee’s report, the RPO Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry ordered the strictest disciplinary action.
As per the RPO’s orders, Constables Nabeel Hussain, Muhammad Asad, Muhammad Waqas and Muhammad Junaid Iqbal have been dismissed from service.
In his official statement, the RPO Multan said that the primary duty of the police was to protect and serve the public, not to misuse authority. Individuals who tarnish the dignity of the uniform through abuse or misconduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances, he added.
The spokesperson for Multan Region Police added that the force remains fully committed to safeguarding the rights of citizens. Immediate action in such cases reflects the department’s ongoing policy of internal accountability and reform.
