MANSEHRA, Jul 29 (APP):On the occasion of the annual Nag Panchami festival, Assistant Commissioner Baffa-Pakhal conducted an official visit to the ancient Shiv Mandir located in Chitti Gatti, one of the oldest Hindu temples in the region, to inspect arrangements for the religious celebrations.
The AC reviewed security, cleanliness, traffic management, and rescue preparedness, and directed all relevant departments to ensure that visiting devotees face no inconvenience. He emphasized that providing full protection and essential facilities to minority communities during their religious festivals is among the administration’s top priorities.
The Shiv Mandir in Chitti Gatti, believed to be over 2,000 years old, holds immense religious and historical significance for the Hindu community. Every year, hundreds of Hindu pilgrims from across Pakistan and abroad gather at the site to celebrate Nag Panchami, which honors the serpent deity and Lord Shiva.
The Assistant Commissioner assured the temple management and visiting devotees of full cooperation from the district administration and reiterated the government’s commitment to interfaith harmony and the preservation of religious heritage sites.
