MULTAN, Jul 29 (APP):The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) installed a solar power system at the Bua Pur Patrolling Post in Multan region on Tuesday.
The project, initiated under the supervision of Regional Officer Saleem Khan Niazi, was officially inaugurated in a ceremony. DSP Mehr Afzal (district Multan), Post In-Charge Sub-Inspector Usman, Public Relations Officer Waseem Abbas, Reader Muhammad Shafiq, and other officers and staff were present.
Addressing the gathering, Regional Officer Saleem Khan Niazi emphasized the importance of aligning police infrastructure with modern needs. Enhancing the operational efficiency of patrolling posts through sustainable and modern energy solutions is the need of the hour. The installation of solar systems marks a vital step toward energy self-sufficiency, he added.
He said that solar system installations were underway at patrolling posts in Sahiwal, Pakpattan, and other areas of Multan region, with upcoming expansions planned for Vehari district and beyond.
The solar installation is expected to ensure uninterrupted power supplies, reduce energy costs and contribute significantly to environmental conservation. The initiative reflects the PHP’s commitment to sustainable development, green energy adoption, and improved service delivery across the province, he added.
