AJK PM pledges for brighter future of younger generation

MIRPUR (AJK), Jul 28 (APP):The Prime Minister (PM) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has said that his government was committed to utilizing all available resources for the welfare of the people and the better future of the younger generation.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the Neelum Sports Festival Season 2 at Tariq Shaheed Cricket Ground, on Monday, the PM highlighted the government’s focus on improving infrastructure to boost tourism and public welfare.
He congratulated the organizers of the Neelum Sports Festival for promoting healthy activities and providing a platform for youth engagement.
“An amount of Rs. 3 billion has been allocated for road construction in hilly regions. Despite not receiving recurring and federal grants yet, the government has provided these funds through savings achieved via its austerity policy,” he said.
The PM announced that Tariq Shaheed Cricket Ground will be converted into a proper stadium with the support of the AJK Sports Department. “Orders have already been issued in this regard,” he added.
He emphasized the importance of Public-Private Partnership in developing tourism infrastructure and creating an environment conducive to rapid development.
“With honest leadership, the effects of good governance start to trickle down to the grassroots,” he noted, adding that collective reform and the active involvement of youth are essential for a progressive society.
At the conclusion of the event, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee presented a shield to the Prime Minister. He also distributed trophies and cash prizes to the winning team, Star XI Jagran.
