20 trekkers depart for the second phase of Tirich Mir trekking

PESHAWAR, Jul 26 (APP):Under the supervision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, 20 trekkers departed for participating in the Tirich Mir Trek.
The second phase has been launched on the instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Trekkers will travel from Chitral via Moroee, Koghzi, Reshun, and reach Ghulghari Pakhturi, said Tourism Authority spokesperson Muhammad Saad on Saturday.
The trekkers will begin trekking the next day from Oveer Shabroonz and stay at the Shokhursaal Camp.
Trekkers will stay at the Tirich Mir base camp and for the first time in history, a summit of the highest peak Tirich Mir is being organized.
Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral, Hashim Azim, saw the trekking team off.
“I commend the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority for organizing the event,” said DC Hashim Azim.
“Trekking is very important for the local economy,” he said, adding trekking benefits local trekkers
“This event will present Pakistan’s positive image to the world,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Chitral.
“We warmly welcome all the guests coming here,” said Hashim Azim.
The Tourism Authority provided trekkers with T-shirts and water bottles.
