PESHAWAR, Jul 26 (APP):Karak Police recovered the body of a terrorist who was injured during an exchange of fire with security forces before fleeing the scene. The militant, part of an armed group, succumbed to his wounds while attempting to escape into the mountainous terrain.
According to details, Shah Saleem Police Station received an intelligence report indicating that a terrorist group, led by Sanaullah Jalali and Maulana Nazir, was moving towards Abasia Khattak with malicious intent.
Acting swiftly, Shah Saleem Police, along with personnel from other stations and the CTD Wing, launched a joint operation near Meena Khel village.
Upon spotting the police team, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire. The police retaliated, but the assailants managed to escape towards nearby hills and forested areas.
During the subsequent search operation, security forces recovered the body of one terrorist, identified as Fidaullah, son of Haleem Khan, a resident of Naghri Wala.
Police seized a Kalashnikov rifle, two hand grenades, , magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition from the deceased.
Preliminary investigations suggest the group was also involved in the killing of police constable Saeed Nawaz, who was martyred a day earlier.
Karak Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring public safety, vowing to continue operations against militant elements in the region.
