ABBOTTABAD, Jul 23 (APP):The Hazara Electric Supply Company (HAZECO) is set to launch online payment facilities for electricity bills in the coming days, following public complaints about the unavailability of Easypaisa and banking app payment options.
According to company sources, the issue stemmed from procedural delays after HAZECO’s formation. “The first electricity bill by HAZECO was printed on July 16. Following the completion of all legal formalities, billing data has now been forwarded to the relevant banks,” the source confirmed.
They added that NADRA is currently updating its systems, and it is expected that from tomorrow or the day after, HAZECO bills will be payable via NADRA’s e-Sahulat platform, enabling smooth online transactions for consumers.
HAZECO was formally established in early 2024 as an independent power distribution company dedicated to serving the Hazara Division, following its separation from the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO). The company became operational on 2nd of July 2025 aims to provide improved and localized electricity services, billing, and customer support to the region.
The introduction of online billing is seen as a major step forward in modernizing HAZECO’s customer services and reducing the hassle of physical bill payments for thousands of consumers across the Hazara region.
