ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 (APP):Pakistan Railways has ramped up its nationwide cleanliness campaign under the ‘Clean Punjab’ initiative, with dedicated field teams now actively deployed across key stations in the Multan Division.
According to a press release, Pakistan Railways staff and volunteers are working in coordinated efforts to revitalize public spaces and enhance passenger services. Modern equipment has been deployed to ensure efficient waste disposal and improve hygiene standards—part of a directive issued by Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.
The operation aims to rejuvenate public spaces and improve service delivery standards. This intensified effort is being spearheaded by Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi.
Targeted operations were carried out at Multan and Khanewal railway stations under the supervision of Divisional Superintendent Zulfiqar Ali Sheikh.
A joint team from Pakistan Railways and the Waste Management Company conducted a comprehensive clean-up of platforms, waiting areas, washrooms, and surrounding zones at Multan Station—underscoring renewed commitment to hygiene and improved passenger experience.
Pakistan Railways is using advanced machinery across the country to ensure complete waste disposal and improved station hygiene. DS Zulfiqar Ali Sheikh confirmed that the initiative is being implemented under the direct directives of Minister Abbasi, with a “zero tolerance” stance on substandard cleanliness.
To maintain consistent standards, DS Sheikh has assigned daily field monitoring duties to relevant officers and station staff, directing them to take immediate corrective action wherever needed. He reaffirmed Pakistan Railways’ top priority is to provide passengers a clean, safe, and comfortable travel environment.
