RAWALPINDI, Jul 22 (APP):Rawalpindi Police on Tuesday was put on high alert across the city amid rain emergency.
All officers and cops have been mobilized to ensure public safety and quick emergency response during possible flood.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) to remain vigilant in their respective areas and to take immediate action in any emergency situation.
He also stated that special police teams are patrolling vulnerable areas to provide timely assistance where needed.
The CPO emphasized that citizens must stay away from nullahs, ponds during flood situation.
In view of the situation, Section 144 has been imposed in Rawalpindi, prohibiting gatherings near water canals, nullahs and other risky locations.
The CPO instructed that immediate legal action be taken against any violations of this order.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
In case of emergencies, they are urged to call the police helpline 15 for assistance.
Rawalpindi Police, is fully active and high alert in coordination with the district administration and rescue services.
He urged the people to follow official advisories and cooperate with police keeping in view the safety measures.
