LAHORE, Jul 21 (APP):The Lahore Police have intensified their ongoing crackdown on electricity theft, arresting 647 individuals and registering 1,081 cases across the provincial capital during July 2025.
A police spokesperson said on Monday that the operation is part of a broader year-long campaign against power pilferage. So far in 2025, a total of 18,510 suspects have been arrested, while 14,565 cases have been registered in connection with electricity theft.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, said the police are working in close coordination with the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to ensure fair, consistent and across-the-board action against those involved in stealing electricity.
“The Lahore Police are extending full support to relevant departments and will continue to pursue all individuals damaging national resources through electricity theft,” Kamyana stated.
The CCPO further directed officers to expedite the arrest of proclaimed offenders in power theft cases and ensure that investigation reports are submitted to courts within the legally mandated timeframe.
