KARACHI, Jul 21 (APP):In line with the directives of Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Karachi Javed Alam Odho, Karachi Police conducted a series of successful operations against criminal elements across the city last week.
According to spokesperson for Karachi Police on Monday, during the operations, police engaged in 16 armed encounters with dacoits in various districts. One suspect was killed in an exchange of fire, while 16 others were injured.
A total of 26 accused were arrested, and police recovered 18 illegal weapons and 11 motorcycles used in criminal activities.
Across East, West, and South Zones, police arrested more than 849 suspects during targeted operations.
In an ongoing crackdown against narcotics, police seized over 64 kilograms (64.312 kg) of charas, ice/crystal meth, and heroin worth millions of rupees.
Additionally, more than 84 illegal firearms, along with ammunition used in street crimes and robberies, were recovered from the arrested suspects.
Karachi Police also recovered 35 snatched or stolen motorcycles and 2 vehicles during raids in different localities.
