ISLAMABAD, Jul 21 (APP):The 28th death anniversary of renowned Pakistani music composer Khalil Ahmed observed on Monday.
Khalil Ahmed was born on March 3, 1936, in Agra, British India. After the partition, he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi, where he began his musical career.
His breakthrough came with the song “Kisi Chaman Mein Raho” from the film Shaam Dhalay. Some of his timeless compositions include “Insha Jee Uthho”, “Main Nahi Manta”, and “Chand Se Chandni”.
He worked with top poets like Ibn-e-Insha and performed for both radio and TV. He also composed for the famous TV program Andaz-e-Bayan Aur, hosted by Zia Mohyeddin.
Throughout his career, Khalil Ahmed received multiple awards and accolades for his musical excellence, including Nigar Awards for best music direction.
He passed away on July 21, 1997, at the age of 61.
