ISLAMABAD, Jul 20 (APP):The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, wind, and thunderstorms in multiple regions of the country on Monday, with chances of isolated heavy downpours.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected to persist in areas not affected by rainfall.
According to the forecast, rain-wind/thundershowers are likely in Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeastern and southern parts of Balochistan, as well as southern Sindh.
Heavy falls may occur at isolated locations in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly areas.
In Islamabad, partly cloudy and humid conditions are expected, with a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, particularly during night hours. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms are expected in areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Bajaur, Kurram, Orakzai, Kohat, Bannu, and Waziristan. Heavy rainfall may occur in some places, while the rest of the province will experience hot and humid conditions.
In Punjab, most districts will see partly cloudy and humid weather. However, scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, and Kasur.
Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in parts of northern and central Punjab. Light showers may also occur in parts of South Punjab including Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
In Sindh, hot and humid weather is forecast for most districts. However, rain-wind/thundershowers may occur in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Tharparkar, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Dadu, and Shaheed Benazirabad.
In Balochistan, most areas will remain hot and humid. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms are likely in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibbi, Loralai, Musakhel, Naseerabad, Dera Bugti, Mastung, Ziarat, Awaran, and adjoining areas.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience partly cloudy weather with scattered rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Kashmir.
During the last 24 hours, hot and humid weather dominated most parts of the country. However, rain, wind, and thunderstorms with isolated heavy showers were recorded in parts of Sindh, Sialkot, and Lasbela.

Sindh: Mohenjo Daro 86 mm, Larkana 72 mm, Hyderabad and Sakrand 21 mm, Sukkur and Padidan 20 mm, Rohri and Hyderabad Airport 18 mm, Khairpur 17 mm, Jacobabad 10 mm, Mirpur Khas 5 mm, Dadu and Karachi 2 mm, Mithi 1 mm.
Punjab: Sialkot City 2 mm.
Balochistan: Lasbela 1 mm.
The maximum temperatures recorded in Nokkundi and Dalbandin were 46 C, making these as the hottest places in the country, followed by Chilas at 45 C.
The PMD has advised residents, especially in vulnerable areas, to stay cautious and take necessary safety measures against potential urban flooding, landslides, and travel disruptions due to heavy rainfall.
