ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP): Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, has reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as the nation observes Kashmir Accession Day here on Saturday.
In his message, the minister paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, stating that on July 19, 1947, the people of Jammu and Kashmir had declared their decision to accede to Pakistan. “This day marks the historical and emotional bond between Pakistan and the Kashmiri people,” he said.
Senator Tarar emphasized that despite decades of illegal occupation, repression, and grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Kashmiri people have shown unmatched resilience and courage in their peaceful struggle.
“Accession Day is a reminder of our continued solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Pakistan has always supported their just cause and will continue to advocate for their rights at every international forum,” he said.
Referring to the United Nations resolutions, the federal minister noted that the right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination is internationally recognized and must be upheld.
“Pakistan stands by the Kashmiri people in their legitimate demand for freedom and will never waver in its moral, political, and diplomatic support,” Senator Tarar concluded.
