Cop martyred during flood relief operations in Jhelum

LAHORE, Jul 18 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar expressed profound sorrow over the sacrifice of police constable, who embraced martyrdom while conducting rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas of Jhelum.
According to Punjab Police spokesperson, Constable Haider Ali Hussain embraced martyrdom while conducting rescue and relief work. His body, missing after being swept away by floodwaters during the operation, was recovered after a day.
The IGP paid rich tribute to his sacrifice in protecting citizens’ lives and property amid severe monsoon rains. He assured full support and welfare for the martyr’s family, reaffirming Punjab Police’s commitment to stand by them. Dr. Usman highlighted the relentless efforts of Punjab Police personnel engaged in flood rescue operations, providing shelter, food and medical aid to affected communities. He ordered uninterrupted patrolling in vulnerable riverside villages and stressed maintaining relief camps, security, and assistance to flood victims across the province.
