SHORKOT, Jul 18 (APP):The district administration Shorkot is on high alert due to a possible flood in the Jhelum River, following instructions from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Commissioner Maryam Khan, accompanied by DC Jhang and DPO Bilal Iftikhar Kiani, reviewed safety measures and the floodwater situation at Head Trimo on Friday.
The Commissioner inspected the SCADA control room and the breaching section on the protective embankment adjacent to Head Trimo.
He also visited Dhabi Balochan, a village near Tehsil Athara Hazari on the banks of the Jhelum River, and met with residents, directing them to adopt safety measures.
The Punjab government has formulated a clear relief plan to address monsoon rains and urban flooding. The administrations of all four districts were directed to take necessary precautions and deal with urban flooding during the rains.
