3 Rawalpindi women police officers appointed as additional SHOs

RAWALPINDI, Jul 18 (APP):As per the vision of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, three lady officers of Rawalpindi Police have been appointed as additional station house officers (SHOs).
According to the police spokesman, Inspector Farsia Naz was appointed as additional SHO of the City Police Station.
Similarly, Inspector Syeda Maria Batool and Inspector Amna Shoaib were posted as additional SHOs at Chaklala and Cantt police stations respectively.
City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani, in a statement, said the appointment of women police officers as additional SHOs was an important initiative of Rawalpindi Police.
It was a step forward towards implementation of the women empowerment vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, he added.
The CPO said the appointment of female officers as additional SHOs was the first phase and in the next phase, they would be assigned the responsibilities as SHOs also.
He said women were working at important positions in different fields. The female officers of the Punjab Police, he added, were also performing duties at par with their male colleagues. They were looking after all police functions including investigation and operations with commendable services.
