Joint meeting held to tackle human trafficking, child labour

HYDERABAD, Jul 17 (APP):A joint session of the District Anti-Human Trafficking and Anti-Bonded Labour Monitoring and Implementation Committee, the District Vigilance Committee, and the District Coordination Committee for Child Protection was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner-II (ADC) Hyderabad Saba Kalwar.
Representatives from various government departments, human rights organizations, labor unions and other relevant institutions participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed on pressing issues including bonded labour, child labour, underage marriages and human trafficking in detail. Addressing the participants, ADC-II Saba Kalwar reiterated the government of sindh’s commitment to eradicating forced labour, child exploitation and early marriages.
She emphasized the need for all relevant departments to understand their responsibilities and ensure practical and timely actions. In light of the extreme heat, she directed the health department to immediately set up medical camps at brick kilns to protect kiln workers and their children from skin diseases.
Furthermore, she directed concerned officers to regularly submit performance reports and working papers, and to take effective measures to address public grievances.
