ISLAMABAD, Jul 17 (APP):President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Nasir Mansoor Quraishi on Thursday assured that ICCI would soon establish the state-of-the-art ‘Exhibition Centre’ in Islamabad and declared it a milestone for the business community of the federal capital.
This modern state-of-the-art exhibition centre in the federal capital would not only be of significance for the traders of Islamabad but would also be a central place for regional and international trade and industry, the President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Nasir Mansoor Quraishi, told APP here.
The Expo Centre in the federal capital was the need of the hour, which would be completed as soon as possible, and also gives an opportunity to the industrialists to showcase their products.
President ICCI said that an international exhibition would be held in Islamabad in coming September, for which he and his team were trying to finalize the program.
Nasir said that this exhibition centre would have four large halls full of modern facilities, where industrialists would showcase their industrial goods to international buyers and diplomats, which would increase Pakistan’s exports and develop the domestic economy.
“Our team has taken several structural steps to modernize the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including bringing the chamber to e-commerce and automation.”
The President said that institutional productivity is of utmost importance in the modern world, and “We want to enhance the ICCI capacity on the modern lines.
He said that without productivity and competitiveness, there is no concept of institutions, for which the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry is being developed on international standards.
President ICCI said that at the national level, at this time, “we have to make policies keeping in mind the ‘Ease of Doing Business and Cost of Doing Business’, which will help the country for a sustainable economy.
He said that to expand the tax net, the government has to take traders on board and make tax policies and reforms have to be made in the Federal Board of Revenue.
The president of ICCI said that the Private sector’s role is significant for sustainable economic development in the country, and the government must give opportunities to the private sector in this regard.
The ICCI President stressed the need for the development of human resources capital in the country for modernization of the economy.
He said that the business community is a big stakeholder in the country’s economy, and industries are creating employment in the country, which grows the national economy.
