IG Punjab releases additional Rs 2.57m for police welfare

LAHORE, Jul 17 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar on Thursday approved an additional fund of Rs. 2.575 million for the medical treatment of police personnel and their families, following scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee.
According to the spokesperson for Punjab Police, Inspector Muhammad Riaz has been granted Rs. 500,000 for cancer treatment, Constable Raza Hussain has received Rs. 500,000 for treatment of a knee injury, Ghazi Constable Muhammad Adeel Jameel has been received Rs. 250,000 for medical care, Sub-Inspector Abrar Akhtar has been provided Rs. 250,000 for the cancer treatment of his wife, Constable Jahangir Ahmed has been issued Rs. 250,000 for spinal treatment, Constables Tariq Mehmood, Muhammad Bilal and Sajjad Mureed have each been granted Rs. 100,000 for medical expenses, Head Constable Muhammad Aamir, the widow of late Constable Tariq Javed and Constable Zahid Iqbal have each received Rs. 100,000 for medical support, Constable Naveed Akhtar, Junior Traffic Warden and Constable Muhammad Arshad have collectively been issued Rs. 225,000 for treatment.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said, “We are ensuring access to high-quality treatment facilities through MOUs with various institutions.”
