Federal Joint Secretary assures for completing Hub SEZ projects

QUETTA, Jul 15 (APP):Federal Joint Secretary Azra Jamali assured on Tuesday that she would engage with higher authorities to expedite the completion of the ongoing Hub Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project, aimed at boosting the district’s development.
She made this commitment while chairing a meeting focused on promoting the industrial sector in Balochistan, specifically discussing the Hub SEZ project.
A team led by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Production and Industries, Azra Jamali, and Monitoring Officer Engineer Shoaib visited also Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority (LIEDA)
In the meeting, MD LIEDA Liaquat Kashani briefed the Federal Joint Secretary about the progress of the project.
He said, in the briefing, work is underway rapidly on the Hub Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project in the constituency
of Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Provincial Minister Mir Ali Hassan Zehri.
The project, costing three billion with the support of the federal government, is an important step towards industrial development.
During the briefing, it was informed that work is underway on the project with 75 percent physical and 65 percent financial progress. MD LIEDA informed in the briefing that under the Hub Special Economic Zone project, an area of four and a half acres has been developed, 65 new industrial factories, ten warehouses and 4 commercial sector units would be established.
Thanks to these industrial development projects, new employment opportunities would be created.
In the meeting, the Federal Joint Secretary was also informed about the timely completion of the project and other issues.
MD LIEDA told the Federal Joint Secretary that 300 million is required for the completion of the project, 100 million funds have been released by the federal government. If the funds are released according to the requirements, the project could be successfully completed this year.
