Interior Minister meets Iranian President, vows deeper bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Jul 15 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, Pakistan-Iran relations, and bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail. Mohsin Naqvi congratulated President Pezeshkian on Iran’s great victory in the war.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the Iranian Supreme Leader and the entire nation stood firmly against aggression. He added that the prudent leadership and excellent strategy of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei played a decisive role in the war, which is a source of pride for the Muslim Ummah. He said that Pakistan strongly condemned the attack on Iran at every forum,  the Pakistani Parliament was the first to pass a resolution condemning the imposition of war on Iran and supported Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense. He also conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message of goodwill and best wishes to President Masoud Pezeshkian.
President Pezeshkian stated that Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan. He emphasized that Iran will never forget the support extended by Pakistan during the war. The Iranian President further said that the Zionist regime is trying to create division among Muslim countries. He stressed the need for unity and harmony among Islamic nations. He emphasized that if Muslim Countries fully understand the importance of Islamic unity, they can form a united front against the Zionist regime.
President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction over the current bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan. He underlined the importance of diplomatic exchanges and constructive dialogue to expand comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. He thanked Pakistan for its sincere support during the war impose. He emphasized that there are immense opportunities to enhance collaboration between the two nations.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, the Iranian President’s Special Assistant, the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran were also present at the occasion.
