Commissioner reviews model markets, upgraded infrastructure

Sargodha, Jul 14 (APP):Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan on Monday chaired a meeting to discuss the modeling of central markets, upgrading of electricity and sewerage systems and removal of encroachments in Sargodha city.
According to the Commissioner’s office spokesperson here, in the meeting, two proposed plans for modeling Gol Chok, City Road, and Kachhari Bazar were presented and thoroughly reviewed.
During the meeting, the SE FESCO briefed the meeting on the study to underground electricity wires in these markets. Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan directed MD WASA to conduct a technical inspection and prepare recommendations and PC-I for upgrading the sewerage system. The Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the encroachment department and directed that the areas vacated from footpaths should not be re-occupied.
During the meeting, a proposal to activate the Pathan Mandi Model Bazar as a food street was discussed to provide citizens with entertainment, food, and shopping facilities at one place.
Parks and Horticulture Authority Director General Muhammad Arshad also briefed the meeting on the New Park Allama Iqbal Colony and other ongoing beautification projects.
Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan directed Chief Officer Municipal Committee Majeed bin Ahmad to ensure that all measures are in place to handle potential rains and that all disposal stations are functional.
The Commissioner directed Assistant Commissioner Shireen Gul to ensure the availability of public facilities such as seating areas, clean drinking water, and washrooms in all subordinate offices.
